I’ve had some conversations and have been researching blended learning over the past several weeks and was not really surprised to hear how some companies are struggling with implementation of a blended learning strategy due to a clunky LMS.
Assuming you have decided what the learning outcome should be and what tool will best achieve it, you’ll have to figure out how to present that to the learner in a seamless way. I’ve attached a diagram (a work in progress) that lists physical and virtual aspects of blended learning and how an LMS and LCMS might manage them. How’s your LMS doing? Do you have a way to store and serve up content other than ILT and e-learning as part of a curriculum (like podcasts, video, and simulations created with a desktop authoring tool)?

The Xegy System by Granite Technologies in Golden CO, rocks! Much better than training focused, overbuilt LMS Systems. Performance Management is the next wave. We use it to train/track and communicate to our entire salesforce.

Hi Rick-
What makes the Xegy System good for blended learning? Can you give an example of how the system serves up a blended program or curriculum for the salesforce? What features and functions would you recommend for others looking to an LMS to manage blended learning?

Janet
